A 4”x4” timber of Red Oak was cut to create the 2 stands. Then a bandsaw was used to cut the cross silhouettes on either side. A Forstner bit was used to drill the holes for the candles. Finally a Jacobean or Red Mahogany stain was applied to draw out the visibility of the grains along with a clear polyurethane finish to protect the wood from minor damage.
